What Path Should We Persue?
We'd love to ask the community what might be our best first step in coming back together as a country. Understanding change won't happen overnight, it's important to target one thing at a time and make sure it gets done. So other than unification, we will have one active path we take towards it at a time.
Options
These are all necessary paths in our opinion, but some may not be possible without accomplishing one or both of the others first.

Increase our numbers and
BUILD THE CAUSE
We focus on outreach, flooding both the digital and real world with positive messaging, an alternative to the constant war that is only escalating.
We show those still caught up in the drama that there's another option. We remind the other side that we too are tired of it all. And we bring our numbers up and staff up our volunteers using members of both major parties and those in the middle.
Representation is important, and we want to be sure our cause is supported by both sides. If our messaging sways too far one way or another, that defeats the purpose.
It makes more sense that we focus on the 80% of our issues that we have in common, rather than the 10% that are unique to each side. Because what are the chances you'll get all of the most extreme views of your side to make everyone happy? Zero. You'll, at best, make half of America happy and the other half furious. And you're guaranteed to be both happy and furious, which is why we're all feeling discombobulated right now.
It's important we all get on the same page, that there are both liberals and conservatives spreading these thoughts around. And when you run into someone from the other side out in the wild, and see on of our posts, go say hi. Show the world what this cause is about, and why it's absolutely necessary right now.

End the split-reality and
FIX THE NEWS
If we trace all problems back, they seem to stem from the news. If you think of an argument, what's the other side's counter-argument, and was it something that was edited/translated to be negative by your side's media? Was it edited/translated to be positive by the other side's media?
If an apple were to fall from a tree and hit the ground, that is the news. The Liberals would blame Trump, and the Conservatives would blame Biden. But the apple simply fell from the tree. That's what our news should be. Fact. And then in a clearly separated separate show, all the opinions their hearts desire.
We must have a trustworthy fact-based news source that both sides get their primary reality from. We will always divide ourselves into preferred camps, that's why our friends are our friends. But our central realities are already tainted either RED or BLUE, neither are crystal clear, and that's why we can't communicate with each other. One side is saying "The water is clearly Blue!" and the other is saying "Are you blind?? It's Red!", and both are right based on their perceived realities.
A possible fix now that AI has advanced to this stage is an accuracy rating system in nearly real-time with a QR code in the corner of all broadcasts. This forces all news to check their facts before they go guessing wildly, making us all look uninformed but it's their fault.
We must stand up to our news giving us bad information and making profits off of our discourse. They aren't currently incentivized to tell the truth, they have more to gain by us being pissed at the other side and happy about how our side is abusing them. They did this to us. It's time both sides push back.

Show the world we can do better with
UNIFIED PROTESTS
There are many things we are all against, but typically you see protests of all-Right or all-Left. There are most likely always exceptions to every crowd, but in recent years, we haven't had unification demonstrations since the earliest days of the Ukraine war when we all came together to speak out against it. But given enough time, we are now divided on that as well, as years of media have divided us again.
There should be unified protests put together that everyone could get behind. And changes might not happen, these could be complex issues, but the point of protests is to get real serious dialogue started at the higher levels that can institute changes.
Our leaders are failing us, and if it's not clicking for them, maybe we need to show them what unity looks like before we demand the same of them. If we show them unified protests, they'll have no excuse to continue on fighting each other while we all are the adults in the room. They work for us, if we worked together we could actually demand they work together.
Here are just a few things we could do national protests on that both sides would like:
-
Term limits
-
Campaign Finance Reform
-
Affordable Healthcare
-
Free speech protections
-
A more secure border
-
Streamlined path to citizenship
-
Protection from AI on socials
-
Income inequality & wage growth
-
Voting rights & systems integrity
-
Affordable housing fixes
-
News accuracy regulations
Either side by themselves protesting typically only yields results if their side is the one in power and able to do something. Democrats protesting against conservative ideals won't change Conservative minds, and Republicans protesting against liberal ideals won't change Liberal minds. If it's not working, we need a new approach. We need unified protests. The policies that are offered up as fixes will differ, but our leaders are too busy fighting to find policies that appease both sides.
